Michael Charnas (Managing Director)
Michael has a BSc, a B.Com Honours and a MBA. He also holds a post-graduate diploma in market research. He has worked in the Market Research Industry for the past 25 years and has been a partner in his own company for the past twenty years. Current and past research clients include Sun International, Anglo American, Standard Bank and many other high profile companies. Mike’s area of focus lies in the business-to-business environment


Michael Scroope (Strategy Director)
Michael has a BA, Diploma in Marketing Management (IMM) and MBA degree. Michael was an independent strategy and marketing consultant whose clients included Nedcor and The Law Society of South Africa. He was also an associate of Johan Bolt and Associates, working with them on several of their clients. He has over 20 years experience in FMCG and Financial Services Marketing and Strategy roles, as well as consulting experience to a number of companies from a variety of industries. Michael lectures in Strategy for GIMT, and tutors MBA students in Marketing Complexity for UNISA School of Business Leadership


Kim O’Hagan (Research Director)
Kim has a BA and a Post Graduate Diploma in Marketing Management through UNISA. She has been in the research industry for just under twenty years. She is research-house trained, having worked at AC Nielsen and Research Surveys across a broad range of industries. In addition, she was involved in the area of marketing and communication. She has experience in senior positions on the client side within the research industry where her work involved conceptual and strategic research.


Yendra Booysen (Consultant and MD: Catalyst CRS)
Yendra hold BA Psychology, BSocSci (Hons) and MA Research Psychology degrees . Yendra started her career as a Research Officer in the Marketing department of Teba Bank where see assisted the International Labour Organisation publishing a paper on Migrant workers and remittances in South Africa. She was an Account Manager at Ipsos Markinor for three-and-half years during which she managed a customer loyalty programme for the largest retail bank in South Africa and received the Walker Information Service Award for her work with this client. Other clients include Barclays SA, McDonald’s and Afrox. She also received two “Thinking awards” for her email survey innovation. Yendra was part of the New Business Development team before she started her own Consumer Insights Consultancy in 2008.


Leslie Pels
Leslie holds a Masters degree, and has lectured and published papers in Applied Mathematics at Wits University. He was the Statistical Director at ACNielsen for many years and was involved in winning the TAMS contract. Leslie also has extensive experience in the medical aid industry where he co-authored and published “Experience of a medicines reference-pricing model” by A.D. Rothberg… L.M. Pels, et al. South African Medical Journal 2004. 94(3). pp183-188, assisted the Health Promotion Unit, School of Public Health at Wits University with innovative measurement methodologies for health promotion in the workplace. Together with Prof. A Rothberg, he received a Government grant for developing and piloting a Health Attitudes Measurement System. In addition, Leslie has been involved in statistical analyses for major South African companies, including McDonald’s, Standard Bank, Ellerines and KPMG.


Nicky Momberg
Nicky holds a BA Hons degree and her working career began in Financial Services, focusing on business development in the emerging market. She then co-founded Business Performance Strategies, a full service market research and strategic consultancy as well as market leader in the B2B, high technology arena. The company was subsequently listed on the JSE with the Privest Group.


Galen Malan
Galen holds a BA degree and has been involved in the research industry for 38 years. She previously held the position of MD of Field Alternatives, Company and Field Director for A.C. Nielsen/MRA , as well as Partner and Director of Field for The Research Junxion, after which she started her own field services company.
